I’ve decided to use this space to tell site visitors the motivation and history behind the songs — working from the most recent to the earliest…
No.1 Walk with Me is simultaneously one of my oldest, and now latest, “tunes” — having been updated in the hopes of helping muse Lynne with her cancer treatment (since she was the romantic impetus for this song, and, it’s a song about growing old together — not a song about one leaving the other).
It was probably in 1972-or-so — after Lynne had sat on the treble clef side of the piano for many of my practices — that I wanted to impress her with some of my own rudimentary material. The updated version of the song has some Moody Blues stylings thanks to Robert Martin’s (of Frank Zappa; Stevie Nicks and Etta James fame) interpretation.
